Learn Indian Classical Music from a Master Who Still Performs with Legends

Whether you're 5 or 75, a complete beginner or returning to your roots—your journey with Indian classical music starts here.

What Makes Our Music Classes Different?

This isn't a Zoom recording or a local hobbyist teaching in their garage. This is the real deal.

Learn from Living Mastery

Shankh Lahiri isn't just a teacher—he's an active touring musician who performs with India's greatest artists. When he teaches a taal, it's the same technique he uses on stages from Chicago to Mumbai.

What this means for you:

You're learning from someone who lives this music, not someone who learned it once and stopped growing.

Designed for Your Journey

Whether you're a parent enrolling your 5-year-old, a 30-year-old exploring your heritage, or a 60-year-old trying something new—our classes meet you where you are.

What this means for you:

No pressure to become a professional. You learn at your pace, for your reasons—whether that's cultural connection, personal joy, or serious skill-building.

Rooted in the Guru-Shishya Tradition

Indian classical music isn't learned from textbooks. It's passed down through deep, personal mentorship—the guru-shishya parampara. Shankh brings this sacred tradition to Tampa Bay.

What this means for you:

You're not just a student number. You're part of a lineage—a tradition that has shaped India's greatest musicians for centuries.

Choose Your Path: Tabla or Hindustani Classical Vocals

Two distinct programs, one shared foundation: tradition, technique, and transformation.

Questions About Music Classes?

Absolutely not! Many of our students are complete beginners. Shankh designs each lesson to meet you exactly where you are.

We teach ages 5 to 75+. Our youngest student is 8, our oldest is 72. Music has no age limit!

Not for your trial class! We provide instruments for your first session. If you decide to continue, we'll help you find an affordable beginner tabla (or you can continue borrowing ours initially).

Both! We offer in-person classes at our Tampa location and live online classes via Zoom. You choose what works best for you.

It varies by student and practice time, but many students perform at our community events within 6–12 months. There's no pressure—you perform when you're ready.

We recommend one 1-hour class per week plus 15–30 minutes of daily practice. But we're flexible—learn at your own pace.

Yes! Some students eventually explore both. We're here to support your musical journey, however it evolves.

Your First Class Is Free. What Are You Waiting For?

No experience required. No pressure. Just you, the music, and a master teacher who believes you can do this.

✓ Free trial—no credit card required
